Walk around with the FZ300
Spent a couple hours at the Litchfield, IL pickers market. Carrying a camera keeps me from spending money at these events.

Re: Walk around with the FZ300
Hey Tom
Nice sharp and bright footage! Most people underestimate the FZ300! I assume it still has the jerky zoom the same as the FZ1000 ? Small price to pay however ...it still does great video!! |

Re: Walk around with the FZ300
With practice it's much better than the FZ1000 if you use the slider on the side of lens instead of the one under the shutter button, but not nearly as nice as the zoom on the FZ2500.

Re: Walk around with the FZ300
I use the control around the shutter button on both FZ1000's as the zoom ring is very unresponsive! The slider sounds a lot better and hopefully when it's pushed the camera zooms ..on the FZ1000 if you rotate the ring a quarter turn it doesn't do anything! Yeah the 2500 zoom is awesome ..mine is already at it's new home on the East Coast ...Have you sold yours yet?

Re: Walk around with the FZ300
Not yet. Haven't gotten it back. I didn't feel comfortable selling without knowing for sure I didn't get a bad copy so sent it in. If they tell me it's operating in spec I'll sell it. Real shame as the video features of this camera is as close as I've seen to operating a real video camera.

Re: Walk around with the FZ300
Yeah you are right .. I also have an MDH2 Shoulder Mount Camera which is our PAL version of your AC8PJ camera ...they are a bit boxy and plastic but when I yearn for a real video camera with a rocker zoom it fills my needs and costs around the same as a FZ2500 .... Sadly only FHD and no 4K and AVCHD only but it works fine and I use it for beach weddings when I'm streaming as it has a "proper" sized HDMI port that isn't easily damaged (both my FZ1000's have micro ports that are faulty as the sockets are damaged)

Re: Walk around with the FZ300
Sorry for the confusion Rob, I should have been more specific. The video was shot with the FZ300, all stills (except the last one which was shot with the FZ300) was taken with a ZS100. Personal preference but I prefer lower contrast lower detail for video than stills. This video was sharpness -5 and contrast -2. The ZS100 was set at sharpness +1 contrast +2.

Re: Walk around with the FZ300
Also should note FZ300 was set to natural profile and ZS100 to standard.

Re: Walk around with the FZ300
Morning Chris. The ZS100 is a small compact camera. 20 meg on 1" sensor. Baby, pocket FZ1000. I carry a compact everywhere with me. The LX7 is still my favorite but the ZS100 takes better video so use it a lot also. It doesn't have built in ND like the LX7 so you need an adapter to use filters.
