New HC-X2 (HC-X1 / UX180 successor)
This looks exciting. Same body as the HC-X1 / UX180 but a number of welcome improvements.
Here are some specs: -Up to UHD 4K60 Video with Live Streaming -15MP 1" MOS Sensor, 5-Axis Hybrid OIS+ -Built-In Wi-Fi & Ethernet; HDMI/SDI Out -XLR Audio Inputs; Timecode In/Out -20x Optical Zoom, 4K 24x/HD 32x i.Zoom -Built-In ND Filters, 120 fps Slow Motion -Up to 10-Bit UHD 4K60 4:2:0 & 4K30 4:2:2 -Records MP4, MOV, AVCHD to Dual SD Slots -Wide 25.4mm Lens, 3.5" LCD Display -High-Speed AF with Face Detection -Price is $3199 which is same as the HC-X1 originally was Looks like the lack of processing power has been improved so you can use both LCD and EVF at same time, as well as some functions which were limited before like waveform etc.. The horrid LCD looks to be higher res and brighter now (yay!) Face detect autofocus could be a big improvement (yet to be seen) New streaming capabillties look exciting. Looks like some old mp4 codecs are gone and now have (horrid to post) 4:2:2 10 bit HEVC along with possibly some old .mov in 4:2:0 8 bit, along with legacy AVCHD. Looks like Leica lens is gone. Same batteries. Still can do dual codec record, which I like, except now apparently avail in 60P also! Wonder if it still has the audio delay which has to be corrected via menu? Possible exposure compensation like the photo line cameras? And the biggest question I have, WILL IT MATCH THE HC-X1 / UX180 color for multicam shoots? |
