HC-X1500 4K/50p editing problem.
My 2016 Magix program doesn't "see" the 4K/50P files from the HC-X1500 which are black frames only. The file format is described as 2160 50P/HEVC LongGOP 150M. Any advice appreciated.

Re: HC-X1500 4K/50p editing problem.
What format file is it? The descriptions don't tell the whole story - the end of the filename is the critical one for making sure software use the correct codec - so .mp4, .mov etc - which type are yours? Of course there wasn't;t much 4K about in 2016? So it's possible it just doesn't have that codec, or simply isn't capable?

Thanks for getting back Paul - it's .mov, although I did a test and .mp4 files have a similar problem. I think you are correct in assuming the program is too out of date. I sent a clip to a friend who has the most recent PowerDirector and he was able to import and play the clip without any problem. So it looks like I'll have to get out my wallet (again!). Phil.

Might be worth trying the Blackmagic Designs free editor - many people say it's really good.

I've installed Da Vinci Resolve and now it's just a matter of learning how to use it and I really don't like learning new stuff (being of a certain age) not to mention being bone idle.....!
