Re: Panasonic HC-X1500 plug in mic power?
I also found this "Canon" mic, the Canon DM-E100 which seems identical to the Panasonic VW-VMS10E-K. Very strange coincidence between two competing camera companies......

Re: Panasonic HC-X1500 plug in mic power?
I buy lots of Chinese stock which I sell and I wanted a camera mic a few years back and discovered that Sony, Panasonic, JVC and Hitachi all had exactly the same microphone - none made by the big brand manufacturer at all. Just a black mic with different screen printing and box and bits. Very normal.

Finally have the HC-X1500 and the 3.5,, mic jack WILL power a microphone. Tried it with an inexpensive BOYA BY-MM1

Re: Panasonic HC-X1500 plug in mic power?
Thanks, I was wondering the same. I just received the XC2000 and was about to test to see if my Rode VideoMic Go would work and your testing saves me the effort of trying all the different mics. So, Rode without the handle, Sennheiser with the handle...
