TM 900 and VLC 2.0.1 and 2.0.2
When I bought a 3.4 GHz iMac I found I had to upgrade my VLC player also. Whereas my original VLC played TM 900 material smoothly on my earlier iMac, version 2.0.1 and now 2.0.2 do not play smoothly on the new iMac. With both these versions the recording plays for 2 to 3 seconds and then stops for a similar period before repeating the cycle.
I would appreciate any help. |

Re: TM 900 and VLC 2.0.1 and 2.0.2
Check it's not got a wonky setting like automatically trying to de-interlace it (or something like that). I think something like that happened on my Windows 7 box a few months ago - lots of stuttering playback until i worked out that I'd accidentally (somehow!) messed up a setting in the preferences - actually I think it did it "all by itself" :-).
I've just downloaded VLC 2.0.2 on my Mac Pro as I've just updated to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 (I was running 2.0.1 on Leopard until 2 days ago and that was just fine for TM900 playback). EDIT; Have just tried a TM900 1080p50 clip off my RAID 0 and it plays just fine.

Thanks Andy, that sounds encouraging.
