what camera to buy? x100 or pd 150
Just sold my Canon XM1(pal) and considering buying the
Panasonic AG-DVX100(pal) or Sony PD-150(pal) I'm using the Avid xpress 3.5.3 editing software(for pc) I'm very interested in hearing opinions of owners or experts thanks, Ilan |

Either are nice cameras. Since it would be the PAL DVX100 you would get, then I don't think the 24P "feature" would be of much use to you, correct?
It's really your decision. Both are great cameras. |

I agree with Alex. Both are good. But I have to add that in my opinion, the DVX100 is better. Why? Easier to hold (better balanced), higher resolution, better color, better audio, controls are easier to use, progressive options, Leica lens, nice viewfinder---I know there's more but I just woke up and drinking my 1st coffee.

Id go for the DVX100 for the same reasons.

Why are there still so many sony, jvc, canon, etc vs. dvx100 posts?
I don't see any dvx100 vs XL1 in the XL1 board? I've used vx2000 (hadn't touched XL1 or pd-150) and dvx100. Both are good cameras. The dvx image is darker out of the box, but it produces, to my eyes, a more film-like image. More reddish, good shadow detail, greens look green (not grey). 2 XLR audio. 24fps with TRUE progressive scan, not "frame movie mode". And that's it's selling point. Not interchangeable lenses, or low light shooting or auto-focus, or hi-def using 1-ccd. And it works for me. |
