letter box option
I have not been able to get the 16:9 adaptor for the DVX 100 and am considering using the letter box option as a desperate measure , the project will be transferred to 35mm .
Please advise. Thanks

Hey Preetha, who will you be going with for your blowup (MiniDV to film transfer)? I think they will have the best recommendations for you since they will be doing the transfer, some companies prefer specific settings over others, or seem to specialize in PAL rather than NTSC, etc.
In my opinion, I don't think you should shoot using the built-in letterbox option of the AG-DVX100 but ultimately it would be best if you established a relationship with the transfer house of your choice to find out, and do so as early as possible. They had a list of transfer houses in the second to the last Res magazine issue, not sure where to go in India however. Perhaps try internationally over at www.swisseffects.ch. |
