I will be recording sound using a Sony ecm55 a ew100 wireless and a me66/k6 from a Mackie 1202 to dvx100 and my question is what to choose, 50db or 60db in MIC GAIN...and why?
Thanks for any help! Alex

Thanks for any help! Alex -->>> It's late at night, but unless my memory is fogged there is a LINE setting which might be the best choice. Why? Every device has an output level for 0VU. It could be about 1 or more volts -- or much much lower. You first determine what your mic or mixer 0VU output is. If it's your mixer, you should know. If it's not, ask? Then set your DVX100 to match it. But you can always experiment starting with the LINE. Then try lower negative values. When the peaks on the mixer -- stay down at -10 to -20 on the DVX100, you've found the right level.
