Some DVX100 Questions
As it stands right now, I’m looking to shoot with the PAL DVX100E, unless something better comes out in late 2003. However, there is one problem, I need true 16:9. So my question is this, just how bad is the optical softening on the Anamorphic adapters? I know that the zoom range is limited with Anamorphic adapters, and that focusing is tricky with them, but is the optical softening of the image (due to the extra glass) really that bad? Also, is there anyway to remotely control focus with the DVX100 while using something like a jib?

Exactly how are they going to pull off remote focus for the DVX-100? I seen the pin outs for the remote jack on another website and there doesn't appear to be any provision for focus.
Is this going to be some type of mechanical/manual rig? Thanks Carl |

A rep from VariZoom posted this in the DV Industry News section:
4. VZ-DVXFF This our new Follow focus control for the DVX100 control. It has 4 positions you can mark in and either manually dial to pre programmed positions or you can push a button and go there automatically. |
