Warranty

Hey guys. Over the weekend, the thread for the tripod screw cracked on my dvx. I wanted to know if any of you think Panasonic should cover this under warranty or where I could obtain a replacement for it. Thanks in advance.

Hey Mike, sorry to hear that. Do you mean the screw from your tripod cracked in the camcorder and so now its stuck in there?

no, the actual thread inside the camera cracked, there is a crack along the inside. the tripod plate unscrewed fine and im sure will screw in in the future, I just do not want a cracked piece on this $3500 camera. thats why I'm really hoping Panny comes through on this. The part can't be that much either I assume.

Have you tried contacting Panasonic or your dealer yet? I'm curious as well whether something like this can be serviced under warranty. I don't see why not. As for parts check out this website and search by model number AGDVX100:

http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/epartr/

Perhaps you can get an idea of how much the replacement part costs from that website.

That is really strange. There must have been something wrong with the female thread screw, faulty or something. They should not crack. I've heard of these things getting stripped, but never cracked. I'd certainly get Pana to replace/fix this for free. Sorry this happened on your $3500 24P cam.
