Manual White Bal: how long retained?
If you set the white balance manually on the DVX 100A, at what point do you "lose" that setting assuming you do not switch to tungsten or daylight in the interim, but if you power off, change tapes, etc?

Ken:
I have the dvc30, and it's likely that it's the same with your cam (someone with a 100x can confirm or refute). With the dvc30 the manual white balance remains in effect until you change it. Jon |

Assuming our cams act the same, yes. |

using A and B manually the settings will remain as they are irrespective of power. u can change batteries if u like.. all this is retained with the battery within the DVX.. one thign though, if u use auto WB (lets say your shooting outside in harsh light where white balancing is difficult) and even if u allocate one of your user buttons to LOCK AWB, u WILL lose these settings (not the AB, but the auto/locked WB... wish there was a way to retain it..
I also wish there was a way to reset teh AB presets back to 3200 and 5600, which would make colour matching with other cams a lil more accurate.. lol |
