Steve Mullen joins our moderating team

A warm welcome to Steve Mullen, who joins our moderator crew here at DV Info Net. Steve's expansive knowledge of camera systems, with the AG-DVX100 in particular as well as many others, will be a very valuable asset here. I hope you join me in making Steve feel at home... his depth of understanding about digital video and his well-established online style are a perfect match for DV Info Net, and I feel most privileged to have him with us. Many thanks and more later,

Glad to Join

Thank you for the warm welcome Chris.

I'll be with Panasonic later today to learn what will be new at NAB 2003. Whatever I can report -- I'll report.

Looks like Panasonic has a competitor to D5. Sony appears to have a D5 of its own -- HDCAM SR, a 440Mbps, 4:4:4 format. HDCAM is "only" 140Mbps.

Welcome to The dvinfo community Steve!

Mr. Hurd has fostered a wonderful place to hang out, talk and share information.

Like many on this list, I am very interested in the "next step" in (read affordable) HD video.

Any juicy insider's gossip is welcome :)

Sony Optical DV

Thank you for your warm welcome.

Sony has announced optical DV.

Over the weekend I'll post a more complete description and how it leads directly to optical HD.
