Dubbing with a GS400?
I have a box of Hi8 tapes of my daughter at 11 months old that I shot some 13 years ago.
I need to get them transferred to DVD, and since I have a fairly decent colection of gear and video editing software (the whole Adobe Master Collection CS4) I have not been keen on outsourcing this task to Walmart or some other vendor. I know I can do it.... I thought that should be simple enough, I have the old Sony TRV510 they were made on and it still functions perfectly. Plays back the tapes beautifully. It has RCA outs, so I ran those into the GS400 via the AV In/Out jack. So what I am playing shows up on the GS400 LCD. But it won't go into record mode so I cannot capture what is being inputted onto tape. If I could do that, which is my goal, I would be all set. So I hooked up a firewire cable and ran it into my computer and set up a test project in Premiere Pro CS4. But when I try to capture, it goes only to the tape and will not capture the input from the Sony running into the GS400. Any suggestions on how to make this work? Any inputs (no pun intended) would sure be appreciated! Never mind, problem solved-- SW Last edited by Steve Wolla; February 11th, 2011 at 09:30 AM. Reason: added info |
