Bag for DVC30

I currently have the Panasonic AG-YUSC100 Soft Carry Case for my DVC30. However, the bag is huge. I am looking for a compact bag for traveling. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Dan,

Check this thread http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=35798

Look at Mark Williams reply from December 5th, 2004 (second to last entry).

I bought the same bag. It is good and not very expensive.

Hi Guys,

Duluthtrading.com now makes 3 sizes of the bag that I originally bought. So take your pick. I wouldn't trade mine in for anything.

Regards,

Mark

Panasonic AG-YUSC100 Soft Carry Case-Size

B&H is offering the bag for free as part of the discount deal on the dvc30. Seems to be no measurements on line. How big is it?
Thanks

Hi Allen,

If you are referring to the Panasonic bag (which is huge for the DVC30), I found this information:
_________________________________________________________________

The Panasonic AG-YUSC100 Soft Carry Case is designed to fit the Panasonic AG-DVX100, AG-DVC30 or similar size camcorders. This compact, padded case securely holds a camera with charger, batteries, cassettes and additional accessories, or full size professional camcorder lenses. The case includes a carrying handle and shoulder strap.

Key Features:

• Soft case holds camcorder with accessories

• 3 Removable Dividers to customize the case.

• Carry handle and shoulder strap

Material: Water-resistant Cordura fabric

Type of Closure: YKK zippers

Interior Dimensions: 16.8 x 7.8 x 9" (43 x 20 x 23 cm) (LxWxH)

Design: 1 Main compartment with 3 dividers

Accommodates: Panasonic AG-DVX100 or AG-DVC30 camcorder and accessories

Carrying Options: Shoulder strap, Carrying handle

Weight: 4 lb (1.8 kg)
_________________________________________________________________

The photo on B & H's website that shows the camera with the bag is not to scale. The bag looks just big enough to fit the camera, but in actuality, there is a ton of room inside. I will try to take some photos this weekend to show you the size of the bag compared to the camera.

Panasonic AG-YUSC100 Soft Carry Case-Size

Dan,

Thanks for the response. The measurements sound big, but doable, especially at no cost.

Hi Allen,

Here are a couple of pictures to show you the size of the Panasonic AG-YUSC100 bag (it is made by Petrol).

Here is a picture of the bag filled with the DVC30 and some accessories:

Here is a picture showing the contents of the bag.

Notice the size of the bag compared to the camera (it is roughly the size of a duffle bag). It is a great bag because it holds a lot of stuff, especially if you can get it free. But, as you can tell, it is not too practical for travel. Thus, my search for a travel bag for the DVC30.

I hope the pictures help to show you the size.

Lowepro Compact AW DV

I'm very happy with my Lowepro Compact AW DV bag. The DVC30 fits nicely with the handle and XLR adapter on (but not with mic attached). Room for headphones, battery charger, batteries, tapes, etc. Several extra detachable side pockets/bags. Built-in raincover.

Ag-yusc100

Hey guys, so for the owners of the AG_YUSC100, how do you like it? Is it sturdy and durable? I know its huge which may be good for me to keep most of my equip. in it. And I'm pretty sure that it does fit carry-on airline specs. Anybody know for sure?
I found the bag for cheaper then $150 (B&H price) so I'm thinking about getting it, even though I don't plan on buying a Panasonic. Thanks for any feedback/suggestions.

I just got this bag free from B&H last week with my DVC30. It is really nice. Very sturdy rigid construction with lots of customizable padded space. The plastic handle that clips the two straps together is very cool as well. It also has a clear plasic slot to display a business card for travel. I can't imagine it wouldn't fit in an overhead compartment or at least under your seat. I would recommend it to anyone. I think it is actually a pretty good size for the DVC30 once you stuff all the accessories in there.
