Questions for all you!

Hey. How's everyone doing? Enjoying your new panasonic camera's I hope!

Just some questions.

1. Im currently own a vx1000 but I'm going to get a dvx100. I called b&h and they said they have no idea when the camera is going to be released but some of you are saying you already have it or have already ordered it.. Is it out or if not, when is the US release date?

Also, when I do order it, where would some of you recommend? It's been awhile since i've ordered my vx1000 and I ordered that from cameraworld.com. With the sony, i was told to order from an "official sony rep" or an authorized dealer but looking in my videomaker magazine, i havent seen any panasonic authorized dealers??

anyway, looking forward to getting the camera someday ;)

thanks for all your help

The official release date is 10/10/02.

Some of us, preordered the AG DVX100 back in August and thus were lucky enough to get it early when Panasonic shipped a limited number to some of their retailers.

On Panasonic's website, there is a list of authorized dealers.

Re: "Hey. How's everyone doing?"

My knees hurt.

Re: "Enjoying your new panasonic camera's I hope!"

Nope. I'm stuck with older ones.

Answer to Question Number 1:

It's supposed to be released and available today (Oct., 10, 2002). Ha, ha..., yeah right!

Answer to Question Number 2:

As of 1 year ago, only 4% of all Panasonic dealers are Panasonic Pro dealers. Yes, you read right, 4%. That's in the USA. In Canada, it's something like 0.12 %. Mexico?? Even less.

DV Info Net's Community Sponsors for the AG-DVX100 (these are authorized Panasonic Pro dealers; they can get you an AJ-DVC200 for that matter) are:

Pro-Tape & Zotz Digital (contact info at www.dvinfo.net/sponsors)

Hope this helps,
