horizontal lines of resolution question
On b&h, they claim the dvx100a has only 500 lines of horizontal resolution. In "video maker" magazine they claim 490 lines. Is this lower resolution noticable when up against a pd 170s 530 lines? and who is right about the resoluion?

The DVX is capable of resolving the DV format's maximum possible resolution, 540 lines. And no, nobody would be able to tell the difference between 530 and 540, and unless they're staring at a resolution chart they probably couldn't tell 500 from 540.
