lense sizes
I just bought a dvx-100a and I also purchased some extra lense filters. These filters are 62mm and used with an adpter sizing ring. Now when I look through them, my view is circular. I also got a .5x wide angle lense than has a very similar problem (its view is football shaped). Can this be fixed or shall I return these lenses?
Thanks Larry |

Sounds like you got "Digital Optics" lenses. Definitely return them, they don't work with the DVX and they're very low quality.

By all means. That stuff is *not* quality. Hope you can get your money back...

It sounds like you're describing vignetting, where the edges of the frame receive less exposure that the centre - and in extreme cases where the edges of the frame don't show the picture at all. If you've got a 72mm filter thread (you have) make sure you buy filters and converter lenses that are designed for that attachment size or larger. It's OK to use step-up rings (72mm to 78mm, say) but not step-down, and especially so with wide-angle converters.
