DVX with DVC30 as secondary...
Just wondering if anyone here uses both cams for multicam shots?
If so how are yo finding calibration? Reason i ask is that the GL2 and XL1s are a perfect fatehr/son pair and i cant help but think the the DVC30 is designed along teh same lines to piggy bak the DVX.. The scene settings seem to be identical in the 2 cams, (apart from progressive) but i was jsut hoping for some opinions on footage matching. Obviously ccd makes a difference but im hoping to pair these 2 up eventually... I was thinkin about going for another dvx.. but the budget jstu doesnt hold it right now.. |

Peter, as long as you don't need 24p, you should be able to dial the DVX to exactly match the DVC30. I'll bet very little adjustment is required. Would like to hear from someone who does it, though!

I forgot you're in PAL land! So it's all 50i / 25p anyway. Can't wait to hear what you think of the DVC30!

im incredibly impressed with the Scene file settings and cinegamma, which is one of the reasons im seriosuly lookin into this (i have the cash in my hand, and im reading the brochure in one hand, while i look across to my dvx tossing it up)
I mean, in most situations, even relatively low lit environemnts, i dont see there being a problem, but the difference in price here in oz, is about $2000 (if i go the dvc, ill be gettin it at cost $3700 not retail $4999) DVX would be a lil over 6k... im still lookin at prices, but i dunno... :( |

what ill be doing, is taking the cam to different locations, and settin on a tripod, then removing the plate (legs stay in place) then do teh same shot with the other camera.
were talkin 1 minute each way (lighting shoudlnt fluctuate) Im also in PAL land, so ill be doin normal and progressive/frame shooting I can only do this if i can find the time though, as im currently flat out.. (hence the need for the dvc30 upgrade.. ) Like i said, ill do my best to get this up quick, but i dont like my chances, just had a pile of work thrown at me .. ... |
