Export VHS to DV
I am trying to grab footage from a vhs tape and editing it on my pc. Does anyone know how to export from vhs to the dvx100a?

RCA and/or S-Video out from your VCR into the DVX's analog inputs on the right side of the camera (above the XLR inputs). Switch the DVX to VCR mode (button below eyepiece). You should be able to view the VHS tape in the viewfinder or LCD, and be able to record to the DVX now.
There is also a menu setting for DV passthough (in VCR mode, under AV in-out setup), which will allow the analog signal to pas through the camera, get converted to DV, and go straight into your computer. This is preferable because it causes less wear on your heads and it also saves you an extra step of capturing to your computer. |
