Century Optics Anamorphic at NAB
Hey all,
Anyone at NAB come across the Century Optics 16:9 converter lens for the DVX100? Apparently they were going to show it at NAB but I haven't heard anything. |

Sadly, Michael, the Century anamorphic for the DVX was a no-show at NAB. The guys at the booth said there's no definite time frame for completion of the lens, and suggested it could be up to six months before it's ready. Apparently, they're on something like thier 4th iteration of the prototype.

Doesn't Panasonic have an anamorphic lens for the DVX? I guess it's not that good for its price?

Panasonic's anamorphic is fabulous for the price. Some people are disappointed in the construction quality, but the optical performance is great. Especially when you consider Century's lens is going to be 2.5 times as expensive as the Panasonic adapter.
