ok i am still having this problem.
i sent a very short clip to matrox rtx support and they reproduced the problem but haven't done anything past that. i even got a tape shot by someone else with a dvx-100 (not an "a") in "letterbox" mode and his footage also imported as 720x480 with the pixels as 1.2 not .9 but again, if i capture it in premiere with a standard 1394 card it is fine. the weirdest thing is if i import the footage using the rtx-100 and then move it to another machine with just premiere pro and a basic 1394 card the 1.2 pixel problem goes away. the problem is i really like the matrox card overall and i just need to solve this hurdle, or send it back! i feel like i'm missing something really basic, but there are virtually no settings to screw with on the import. and the matrox support guy just thinks its because the camera is unusal and he ends his emails with "good luck" matthew |
