Gl1 To Dvx100 Audio Drop Out
Taped many live shows with my GL1 and recently sold it and bought the DVX100.
When playing these tapes on my DVX100 there is audio dropout (I think that is the term). Some were recorded in SP and others in LP. Any ideas what went wrong and how to correct? Thanks |

Off-hand I would speculate that LP mode may be a prime culprit. The slower tape speed of LP recording can make for some bed incompatibilities even between cameras of the same make and model.
There is probably no ready remedy aside from perhaps locating another GL1 able to play the tapes without problem. You could then transfer the footage to a new tape recorded (in SP mode) on your DVX100. But that would probably be a bit of a challenge. p.s. Please do not use all capital letters in your posts.

i have 2 canons .. every year i take blank tape to the dv shows. i tape a little with different Dv camera's. when i get home i play em back on my panasonic DV deck .. there is usually 1 -2 sections that either audio/video doesn't play back correctly and EVERYTIME that section was recorded with a canon camera!!
i then put the tape in my canons sometimes they play back that section OK but many more times they DON't ... at present one of my canons has to play back the tape it recorded as neither the deck nor the other canon will play back the tapes audio correctly... |
