update for the DVX100?!?
I have been having serious problems with my Dvx100. Only had 39 hours on heads. Was getting clitches and mosaic noises when recording... so i took it back. They told me that my DVX needed the new software update?!? My camera is still under warranty so they shipped it off to the Panasonic "fix it" center. Should get it back with in a few weeks.
Is that true? Some Dvx100's out there need a update patch like mine? wa? |

Is this accurate?
If anyone has information regarding this, please do post. Thanks.

The first thing I'd look at is, what tapes were you running? Someone put a TDK tape in my DVX, and it was utterly unusable, there were massive dropouts and streaks in every frame. I ripped out that tape, ran the head cleaner, and then put in a Panasonic Master series tape (the only tapes I ever voluntarily use) and it was picture-perfect and pristine again.
I've never heard of anyone else needing their camera updated in software! |

First I've heard about a DVX needing a "software update" to function properly.
Sounds like the original poster has clogged heads. Mine went with about 4 hours on them due to using SONY Premium tapes. I now use Panasonic MQ tapes and like Barry, have no problems. |
