IS THIS MIKE okay?
I'm still test driving this DVX100 - QUESTION:
I have an Azden SGM-2X shotgun mike, and I was wondering, is this a suitable external mike to use with the DVX100 in boompole situations? Would it need any special boosters or adapters to modify impedence? |

I was thinking you should get a mic instead.

No John. Mike is OK. :-0
And Scott, that mic is OK too. I use the SGM-1X and you don't need any special boosters/adaptors. DO NOT use phantom power on the DVX (Azden says this will damage the mic.) The only thing about the 2X on a boom pole is its a rather large mic. But if your boom operator can handle it, hook up your XLR cable and you're good to go. |

I use an SGM-2X on a boom pole with an XLR adapter attached to my GL2. It works wonderfully.

The DVX100 has balanced inputs. You don't need anything but a XLR female to male cable and yes the Azden will work.
