Capturing Footage shot in 24PAdv & 30P
i'm capturing my footage of my documentary and some tapes were shot 24PAdv
while most of it was shot 30P. How can i know the formatting of my tapes if i did not write it on the tape's label? Also how come in the display ALL mode you get the aperature but not the shutter speed? ciao stef./.\ DVX-100B FCP 5.1 iBookG4 |

It actually does not matter. If you capture in FCP with the advanced pulldown removal preset, it will detect which clips are 24pA and remove the pulldown from those. The 30p clips will be left intact.
That said, if you intend to mix the 30p and 24p clips on the same timeline you'll be better off *not* removing the pulldown, otherwise you'll have to render one or the other format to match in a sequence and you'll wind up with all sorts of nasty artifacts as 30p clips do not mix well on a 24p timeline. So capture everything as standard NTSC DV and you'll get the proper 24p look while 30p and 24p will live happily together on an NTSC 30p sequence. I go over this sort of workflow on my DVX100 disc btw: http://www.callboxlive.com/store/pro...products_id=28 Noah |
