question for a friend - sync sound
A guy I know just bought an AGDVX100, and he says that when you record in 24fps, you have to slow the audio in post so that it syncs up??!! Is this true? This sounds like a pain in the ass and something that Panasonic should have fixed. I suspect he's wrong, and would like to correct him.

Josh,
There's a long thread somehwere on this topic... but basically yeah, there's a synch discrepancy. |

I don't get that. . .I mean a second's a second, right? It's not as if it's taking 24 of the 1/30 of a second frames for regular 60i. . .it's 24 1/24 of a second frames. As long as your project's in 24p, why should there be an issue? Oh well. Suddenly, I'm not so excited about 24p.

Josh,
Again, dig through the thread, but I think what you are dealing with is the pull-down conversion in camera. |

Josh:
It's a not a big deal. Actually, all DV cameras suffer from this issue to some extent, though it's longer on the DVX100 due to the processing it does. Very easy to deal with and many packages are dealing with it or plan to deal with it automatically. |
