MX dog shooting, drinking coffee and chatting

It's a very windy but a wonderful sunny day here in Vancouver. So this morning I walked down to the beach with my MX300, minus the tripod. (I live 3 short blocks from Kit's Beach.) The waves were huge, and a lot of people were out and about, jogging, walking their dogs, and taking in the sunshine. So I shot some dog footage while sipping my Star Buck's coffee. Well, it was something to do before I kill myself with that stupid writing project I have to do for someone---and the clock is ticking.

Anyways, this gal sat beside me and asked me if that was a Sony. I said, "no, it's the Panasonic MX300. It's PAL." "Oh?" she replied. "I've never heard about that one. Is it good?" "Yeah. it's the best hand-held, 3 chip DV cam money can buy." "What's a 3 chip?" she asked. http://www.8palm.com/sadsingl.gif

Err.. Frank... Consider yourself a "nice approachable fellow". ;) Maybe she's one of the rare ones who are into guys who are into techie things?

What happened next?

Well, I went on and explained a few things to her, it was just casual talk. People are pretty friendly and open down by the beach. Almost every time I sit down on a bench, someone starts a conversation. The summers are best by the beach. Lots of action. I usually go to the hot dog stand, buy a hotdog and coffee, then feed the dog to the birds. The birds sit right on your table, shoulder; and what I try to do is take stills or video of them.

Yes, I explained to her what a 3 chip cam was. She told me that her boyfriend has a Sony, but didn't know what kind.

She didn't know which model. About the boyfriend, she only mentioned she had one and he owned a Sony. I just came up from the beach, 5:50 am here, looks like another sunny warm day. The sun's still working its way up though. Those poor Star Buck people, they do start work early.
