wide mode procinema gs400
Hi everybody,
When I put my camera in widemode (in the menu under recording) then I see the image letterboxed on the lcd screen. But when I touch the button for procinema the black boxes dissapear. Is there a possibilty to use these two modes. |

Dimitri,
Both WIDE and PROCINEMA should display squeezed/stretched on the screen. If you are seeing a letterbox on the display, then perhaps you have CINEMA mode enabled through the menus. CINEMA mode "burns-in" black bars onto your tape, tossing out resolution, and is not widely used. Check out CINEMA mode and make sure its off. Josh

So it's actually not a good thing to use the cinema mode in the menu?
and with the button "wide/procinema" you actually have a widescreen but your lcd shows it cropped ? |

Dimitri,
Usually not a good thing to use CINEMA mode. Depends on what your end result needs to be. For most people, they want to make true widescreen DVD's. In which case, shoot WIDE or PROCINEMA, avoid CINEMA mode. WIDE and PROCINEMA display distorted on the LCD, but they are both true widescreen. Josh
