this is the aussie one

pretty usless if you ask me doesn't even give me details specs on the GS-200 or GS-120, just a short summary of marketing specs and that's about it in a printable version as well! oooooo how wonderful, hence the reason i go to the UK or Japanese sites to find out info b4 i go into stores to ask questions and leave the sales staff wondering why they weren't informed of the features i mentioned..... hehehe. it's exposing their ignorance but you have to do that sometimes.

the ppl at panasonic marketing in australia are pretty much useless as well, in my opinion anyway.

<----- i'm regular crew!!! wooo! hehehe

go the Aussies! =)

The list seems to have been updated up to 1 August 2004, but still no indication of any new consumer cam..hmmmm.

Thanks one again, Allan. I think this Pana link is the most important one for those new cam announcements. Any one want to place any bets whether there's going to be a new Pana 3-chip Japanese Domestic?

Nothing new on these Pana sites yet? I'm just sticking with the Canadian link, since I can't read those other languages including Australian.

Hey, thanks, Richard!

Did you see any mention of chip size! Anything else there that's interesting? Wait, French was my second language (English is my 3rd); I think I'll go there to check it out for myself---hopefully it won't crash my WIN 3.X browser. :-))

Update: I see it's just the usual with the unusual GS4 pic. :-))

The microphone placement seems rather odd, up there on the top, almost the center of the camera. This would be a great location if my primary purpose was to record lens autofocus and zoom noise. Maybe Panasonic is just throwing up their hands and figuring that anyone who cares a whit about sound is going to add an external mic anyway.

Richard, my GS100 has the same mic placement and I haven't had any issues other than its an integrated mic (with all the implied shortcomings).

Thanks, Tommy. Good to know. Damn, that GS100 of yours is bigger than I thought it would be. (Of course it's unfurled in all its glory.) But compared to, say, a GS70 it looks like a handful.

me out!!! help! can anyone else get in?

http://www.panasonic.be/servlet/PB/menu/1050385_l6/

If someone can get in, please let us know. :)

But for real, I think somethings going on..they've password protected the site! lol!:) That can only mean that something's gonna happen real soon right?
