New GS100 User questions
OK...
So I just got my Black GS100 yesterday (probably one of the last ones to be had unless they started production again, lucky me...) and I'm having a wee-bit of a problem using some of the features and I was wondering if someone could give me a hand... First problem is with the "soft skin" mode feature-thing... in the GS70 manual it states that you simply push the soft skin button and boom, something happens AND you'll get a indication on the LCD that says the function is activated. When I push do this, NOTHING seems to happen and I get no indicator (does the same (no)thing in both normal and pro-cinema mode). Is there a function I have to enable somewhere in the menus? Also, does someone have a translated list of the menus SPECIFICALLY for the GS100, and also what all the indications that pop up on the LCD mean? I'm figuring everything out pretty well using the DV953 and GS70 manuals, but some of this stuff is really confusing. Really nice camera, however. I'm still trying to decide whether I like it more than my Sony TRV900 PAL. I'll post some images of my set-up when I get a chance. |

The skin detail button is on the bottom row, far right under the LCD. I don't think it will work with ProCinema on but I'm not sure about that. You should see a yellow icon in the bottom right corner of your LCD when the skin detail is on.
As for the translated list of the menus, there was a pdf file with them in it. I'll check and see if I can find it. You might want to subscribe to the yahoo GS100 users group that is the place I think I saw it. Hope this helps you a little. |

I found the translated list file you are looking for. It is in the Yahoo users group under files.

Samuel, did you find the files ok? If not I can email them to you.
BTW - where did you luck up and find a Black Mamba this late in the race? |

sorry, long week-end...
didn't/ haven't found the pdf's... I bought Aaron Kwinter's black mamba which he had posted for sale a little over a month ago. Just got it this past week and it was just as he said: just like brand new with all the original packaging and working fine. I'm fairly pleased with the camera, though I think I'm going to miss LANC focus control... |
