Ambico V3100 WA and Tele Lens Set
On my website, I have posted pictures taken with the Ambico V3100 .5X wide angle and 1.5X telephoto lenses. These lenses come as a set with a case. The wide angle has both a 46mm and 52mm threaded mount. The telephoto has a 49mm threaded mount. They can be used with the DV953 with step up rings. The wide angle is full zoom through.
This lens set is not currently being manufactured. But, you can find it new if you look (E-bay). I found this one at a pawn shop for $75 new in the box. |

That's a good price but are they any good? I looked at a no-name wide angle at a pawn shop some time back. The adaptor was in the 37mm thread size and looked solid. But when I inspected the glass, I saw that it was cheap cheap cheap. No scratches, but cheap glass. :-))

Frank,
I like these lenses. The glass is good, construction is solid, and the pictures are good. They may be a bit hard to find, though. |

Nowadays, some Nikon Japan lenses are made in China, so you weren't off the mark. (I am told by Nikon that they are just as good. Unfortunately, I'm not one of the blindly faithful. )
