Vegas passthru DV953 to VCR, how?
Hello:
I want to use Vegas "print to tape" function to copy to the VCR and use my dv953 as the go between. Not sure how. Thanks in advance. Rob Sorbo |

Hello Robert, I have a feeling this one is going to get moved over to the Vegas board. :-)) Anyway, if the 953 is like the GS100, Just hook up the firewire port from the computer to the camera and the A/V out from the camera to the VCR. I am not 100% sure this is how it's done. Wish I was at my other PC now. If this is not the way to do it I'm sure Edward T will be able to help. Good Luck!

Robert,
I don't know that particular unit. Does it allow pass-thru? Can you record to tape fine? Many units have menu options that must be set changing the direction of the firewire connection. Then, if the unit allows pass-thru, the signal should be routed out the analog outputs. My deck does all of this automatically. My XL-1 will also, on output. |

Yes, it should work Paul's way. Make sure AV IN/OUT is set for Out in the 953 menus. Take the tape out of the 953 and turn off DV Device Controls in the Vegas Options.
