Pana DV852 (MX8) shutter speed question
Hi all,
I've noticed in the tape mode (video), the lowest shutter speed I can get is 1/60. But when I put it in the card mode (still), it allows me to move the shutter speed lower, to 1/30. I'm wondering whether there's a way to set the shutter to 1/30, when in the tape mode? How about the Low Light pre-set? It doesn't seem to make any difference from my own best manual low light setting. I'm guessing the Low Light mode is pre-set to 1/60 as well. In the card mode going from 1/60 to 1/30 in low light does seem to make a big difference. It would be great if there were a way to use 1/30 shutter in video. |

In manual mode, I would set the shutter at 1/60th. 1/100th is good too for say faster moving action. In auto mode, the shutter speed most likely varies from 1/7.5 and up. Sorry, you can't "set" your shutter speed slower than 1/60th with most Pana handhelds, unless it's the new DVX100A, and perhaps the "not yet released," DVC30---but I'm not sure with this one.

Frank,
I was almost certain it couldn't be set lower than 1/60 but I thought I should ask anyway. Thanks for removing the doubt. Fred |
