how about a used ag-ez30u?
Hey, I was wondering. Since I cannot afford an expensive new cam like a pv-dv953, perhaps I should purchase one of those used ag-ez30u 3 ccd cams. Is this better than my pv-dv702 because it has 3 CCDs? Does this cam have frame mode? Are there any web sites with information about this cam? Help a poor postal worker out people. What do you think? Huh?

Interesting, but I couldn't find anything whether it has frame mode. I also read on that geo city site that it has a bad "DIS." Whatever that is. What is that? It doesn't have DV-in, I also read. I know what that is. I'm not sure now. Do you think my pv-dv702 is better?

I cannot answer your questions, except about DIS. DIS is short for digital image stabilization. Your PV-DV702 also has this. Whenever I'm looking for cam info which is difficult to come by, I do a google.com search. As to which is the better cam, I don't know. The 702 is smaller, and takes good stills, and this is what you want with your trip, unless you are also taking a still cam with you. If someone gave me a choice between the 2, I'd lean towards the 702. I rather like that model. Both cams, from what I see, have their pro's and con's. Better sound with the 30U, but lower resolution. Perhaps someone else can answer your questions.

How about the used DV951 or GS70? You could purchase either one for less than $999.
