I just got my GS100K this week.
John Palmieri == 26 January 2004 == Price Japan(Black) US$1202 I think the remarkable thing about this was that it arrived from Japan to Connecticut in less than 3 days. I ordered it on Friday at 3PM EST. It arrived Monday at 11AM EST. The camacorder was brand new factory sealed with excellent service. John. |

Just got home with one
I got it in Nagasaki at Kitamura camera for 119,000 yen which is about $1120. Got it there as the staff at this shop has been great to me over the years and it comes with a 5 yr. warranty! It's been 8 yrs. since my hi8 died and haven't touched a video camera since. I got this model after all the rave comments from you guys. Didn't even check any footage out in the stores- going on the overwelming popularity of this cam that users here and at camcorderinfo.com have shown. Just for kicks I went to Yamada denki and asked the jokers there which camera had the best video quality. The salesman lead me to the Victor 3500 which was quite a bit cheper. He had some night footage of a local festival that looked great in the viewfinder but it wan't enough to deter me from the gs 100. Can't wait to try this puppy out later this weekend.

GS-100K from Price Japan
Hi Samuel and other members,
Here is a list of the GS100K and accessories I ordered from Price Japan in early January. Even with special order accessories I had everything in about a week. I ordered the GS100K after reading all the messages on the DVi Community. We needed the Frame mode this Camcorder offers. The GS100K is everything the members talk about and more. NV-GS-100K (Black) JPY 117,700 VW-VBD7 Waist Battery JPY 16,200 VW-LF43W Filter Set JPY 2,600 VW-LDH3 Video Light 5,960 VW-LLS Halogen Bulb for VM-LDH3 JPY 1,500 x 2 3,000 VW-FLHDJ3 Video Flash JPY 8,500 VW-SJGS100 Rain Cover JPY 6,930 VW-VMH3 Dedicated Stereo Zoom Microphone JPY 1,700 Since I am in Canada it was easier to send JPY (Yen). Service from Price Japan was great. They keep in touch through the entire order to delivery process. I ordered extra Panasonic CGA-DU21 2040mAh Batteries from a contact in Hong Kong for US$50.00 each including Registered insured Air Mail. If anyone is looking for batteries from a reliable source with great prices, send me an email and I will put you in touch. I am becomming adicted to the DVi Community forum. Thank you to everyone who contributes. Best wishes to all, Brian |

This must be a record for a GS100K
Here is a fine example of the service provided by PriceJapan.
Our second Panasonic NV-GS100K arrived in my office before 11:00 this morning 20 February. I am totally impressed. I paid PriceJapan through PayPal at about 00:40 19 February 2004. This must be a record; about 34 hours from payment to receipt of goods. The package traveled half way around the World, cleared Canada Customs and was delivered by DHL in less than 34 hours. The NV-GS100K was perfectly packaged wrapped in bubble wrap then placed in a very strong outer carton. We only opened the outer carton to record the Serial Number. This GS100K will be kept as received as a back up for our first GS100K. It is a plesure to do business with the professional staff at PriceJapan. |

Canada Customs - GS100K
Hello Travis,
This information should assist all Canadians. We are a registered importer and exporter. We ordered the GS100K for our business. The Canada Customs Entry was a Commercial Importation B-3 Entry. The GS100K is Duty Free. We had to pay GST; however we get it back as we are GST registered. Individual entry's are different. The GS100K is duty free to individuals as well as businesses. You will be required to pay GST to Canada Customs. You may be required to pay Provincial Sales Tax and Brokerage fees. Canada Customs can advise if they will charge Provincial Sales Tax for your Province. DHL can advise you of their policy on Brokerage or you could clear the shipment your self. Canada Customs Officers are very helpfull and will help with the paperwork. DHL will call you when the package arrives and offer you the choice. Here is the best procedure to follow importing a GS100K or any other Digital Camcorder into Canada. You need to identify the item per Canada Customs Classification: Description: Digital Color Video Camcorder Make & Model: Panasonic Model NV-GS100K Classification Code: H.S. Code: 8525.410.00.10 We provide our suppliers with a Canada Customs Invoice in Microsoft Excel format. All PriceJapan had to do was enter the date of Direct Shipment, their Commercial Invoice Number and the Gross Weight of the package. They then print the Canada Customs Invoice and attach four copies to the DHL Air Waybill. If anyone would like the Canada Customs Invoice in Microsoft Excel format, just ask. Should you have any other questions, please drop me an email to Brian.Kirkey@PoliceOrdnance.com |

My new GS100k
I got my GS100k this week from an ebay auction for $1200. My only disapointment is that it doesn't let you see 16:9 correctly in lcd like the PDX10. Other than that I'm stoked!

Oh, I'm not complaining
Yeah, I could spend under $200 on a 16:9 7" lcd and then still have $800 left over for all kinds of accessories from the money I saved by not buying the pdx10. The same week I decided to order from price Japan, a silver one NIB popped up on ebay. I was in heaven! You guys have helped a Sony person see the light on this great camera over the last several months of my lurking. I hope to repay the debt I owe you all with my experiences with this awesome cam!

gs 100 english user manual
I just ordered a black gs 100 from pricejapan.
They sent me a link for the english translation of the user manual: http://404.realmud.com/mike/misc/nv_gs100k_eng/css/nv_gs100k.htm. I tried to read the text with ms explorer and safari but i only get jibberish. Anybody have any other link that works. Many thanks. Pricejapan indicated that only two more black gs 100 available ... so I inquired about a replacement model. This is the answer: "New model will be released on June, this year (roughly in 100 days) We don't know any information about it. Kaneda" Thought this might be of interest. Hellmut |
