GS100 Japanese sales
I realize that the GS100 has only been on shelves for a short while (1 week?). I'm curious, however, how it is selling. Will it be as popular as the MX5000? Will there be any Japanese reviews coming out soon? What will they say....

Frank, go to http://www.kakaku.com/ranking/itemvi...nking_2020.htm. There are some statistics through May. Looks like at that point the GS100 was the biggest seller in the digicamcorder category. Don't ask me about navigating this site. Some of the follow up links show up as totally unintelligible on my Mac, too. Pricejapan tells you how to at least access the current lowest price on items by going to http://www.kakaku.com, though.

Frank, the link I gave you is good, but the conclusion isn't. I'm an idiot. Of course the stats are through May only, so the GS100 isn't included yet. It was the GS70 at the top of the list. I think somewhere else on the site there is a reference to how well the GS100 is selling in its category at this point, but there's no complete ranking for June posted yet. If I stumble across the sales number, I'll let you know.

That kakaku ranking does not refer to actual sales. It's a ranking of how many times the product info page was accessed in a month. Among camcorders, GS70 info page was tops in May 2003. It's a popularity ranking restricted to kakaku.com only.

Thanks, Allan. That explains the other list about what looks like mail inquiries. So what about Frank's question. Is there a way to find out about actual sales?
