The only way to determine this is measure the resolution with a HD wave-form monitor and with comparing resolution charts. Perhaps you can get an idea by seeing which cam uses more video effective CCD pixels in 16:9 mode, but then the quality of the lens also plays a big part with resolution, so you would have to determine which lens passes more detail through.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's a GS100K?

It's the new Panasonic 3 CCD hand-held. See GS100 thread:

Hmm I guess I will have to wait until some gets a GS100K and does some side by side comparison.

The PDX10 has a higher gross pixel count with its 1070k per CCD and the GS100K with its 800k. The video actual count is only 690k on the PDX10 and 640k on the GS100K which isn't a huge difference. I'm not sure if "video actual" has anything to do with the 16:9 since it uses a larger portion of the CCD. They both give a wider viewing angle in 16:9 mode but there is no mention of vertical zooming on the PDX10. There is a 1.04 vertical zoom to achieve 16:9 on the GS100k (zooming degrades resolution).

I think the bigger difference is the price. I'd rather have a PDX10 but only if it cost $1200. :)
