AC-130/160/250 Slow Auto Focus Fix

Read an interesting post today (from Panasonic?) addressing the slow auto focus operation on the long end of the lens. Supposedly using the auto focus button more quickly snaps the picture into focus versus the more gradual, regular action of the lens. Check out the article below:

Re: AC-130/160/250 Slow Auto Focus Fix

The problem with 1080/60p, referring to the announced free upgrade for the AC-160 is that it is not yet here. I see no reason to buy it in advance of that. Based on the superior 1080/60p implementation in the Panasonic consumer versions, TM700/TM900 and variants, I hope it will be as stunning. It's too bad you can't combine this with just a little extra depth of field from a 1/2 inch sensor. Without that differentiation, 1/3 inch 3 chip prosumer cams always seem to miss the mark slightly. Even though to me, AVCHD 2.0 encoding is a resource hog and we don't have a distribution medium, the videos are stunning and worth the hassle. I grade in Vegas Pro 11 64 bit, render to Avid DNxHD at 220 mbps 8 bit, and final render in x.264. It's very powerful, compelling quality. Anyway, it seems to me that the AC-160 is as close to an affordable 1080/60p semi-pro cam as we will have in the near term, and reason enough for me to want one now, just need to see what the competitive landscape looks like when the upgrade arrives at that time.

Will the AC130 ever have the 1080/60p?

Unfortunately not. Panasonic confirmed.
