HMC150-XLR Audio
So apparently I'm audio retarded. I rented an external mic for a commercial, I plugged it into the XLR input. What do you guys do with the 2nd line of audio? If you turn it off and just use the audio from the shotgun mic it's only playing through one speaker when I'm editing and reviewing on a TV. Do I need to have 2 shotgun mics hooked up or am I missing something minor such as a audio feature / switch. I find if I leave the audio on the camera on but set the DB very low, it still sounds kind of poopy.
Sorry for the 4th grade question. I just have very little experience with audio. thanks Greg |

Re: HMC150-XLR Audio
Two ways around this...
1) plug your mic into input 2 and use the selector switches on the camera to assign input 2 to both channel 1 and channel 2 This will put the same audio on both channels 2) leave the camera recording to only one channel as you have it. In your editor, pan that channel to the center and it will come out both speakers. If I'm shooting one person, I will use a shotgun on one channel and a lav on the other for redundancy.
