Panny 150 lanc control

I would like to use one of these babies at the end of a camera jib but I can't seem to locate any information on lanc controls for the HMC 150.

No point in getting one without that feature. Anyone?

The reason why you can't locate any information on LANC controls for
the HMC150 is because Panasonic doesn't use LANC. Only Sony and
Canon use LANC. Panasonic uses a proprietary controller interface that
they call the Aux jack (you will find an Aux jack on your HMC150).

There are a number of controllers (Aux, not LANC), to choose from.
Anything listed as compatible with the DVX100 and HVX200, etc. is
also compatible with the HMC150 and any other AVCCAM camera.

For example: Learn about Panasonic's ROCK-DVX-ZFI

Hope this helps,

Thanks Chris,

Since I already own the Vari zoom PG-L, I guess I'll just stick with Sony or Canon cameras.

Well this explains why it's been hard to find a LANC control compatible with my 151.
Seems a silly move on Panasonic's part. It must discourage people from moving over the Pana.

Manfrotto 521P is the zoom/rec controller for Panny Cams (similar to the 521 which is LANC for Sony/Canon, but these ones have a "P" at the end of the product model to signify Panasonic) Also the 521PFI version controls the focus and Iris. There's two jacks on the 150/151, one for zoom/rec and one for focus/iris. I have both mounted on my shoulder mount rig, so I can leave my hands on the handles.

Both these will work on the 150/151 and other Panny cams like the HMC40

Been looking at the VariZoom | VZStealthPZFI Throttle Controller | VZ-STEALTH-PZFI
and the VariZoom | VZRock-PZFI Rocker Controller | VZ-ROCK-PZFI | B&H

Both look pretty decent for the money and the customer reviews are good.

I have the VZ Rock and it works well but the focus is VERY sensitive around center. Just takes a bit of getting used to.
