My assignment this week was videotaping freshmen English students from a local high school who were interviewing senior citizens for a class project on World War II. The interviews took place at two elder-care communities. I kept circling around like a vulture during the interviews because I was trying to get some b-roll while they were talking - and also get the mic close enough to pick up the voices clearly despite the external noise/distractions. I thought my Rode Videomic did well, but I think I'm going to look into getting the xlr attachment so I can run two wireless lavalier mics in situations like that.
