AG-HMC40 and Blu-ray player rebate

Has anybody here purchased this camcorder, sent the rebate for the free blu-ray player and received it? If so, how long did it take? And, did you receive the BD60K or anything else (the rebate says "Panasonic BD60K Blu-ray player (or equivalent)", that's why I'm asking.

Was this the promotion that B&H was offering? By the time I order mine, it'll be over, and I already have a BluRay player, so I'm not terribly worried, hopefully it'll be something different.

I'm just curious if this was a B&H thing only though.

No, it wasn't a B&H thing, it was Panasonic's.

So nobody here bought a HMC40 and sent this rebate? I still haven't received mine, so I want to get an idea of how long will it be.

I did! But only this week, so I'm not expecting anything for a while. The rebate form says "Normally within 6-8 weeks".

I did too, sent it in about 2 weeks ago.
Someone posted takes 4-6 weeks I think.

We bought an HMC-150 the first week of last December, and registered to get the free 16GB SDHC card that came with it. That's been almost 3 months, no card yet. They don't seem to feel it's much of a priority to get these rebates out, apparently.

Purchased HMC40 in January

Sorry for the thread bump but checking in to say I sent in my rebate info on 1/15/2010. It's now been 11 weeks and no Blu-Ray.

Bummer.

It's to the point that I am trying to find some contact info to get some kind of status report or answer, but sadly I know not to hold my breath.

Anyone actually receive their unit?

thanks
Jim

Don't feel bad for bumping the thread, I've been waiting well beyond the 8 weeks for the Blu-ray player too.

Ineptitude

These people are a monument to ineptitude. I sent my rebate on January 5th, which according to the tracking they received the next day. Tired of waiting, I called on 3/16 and spoke with a rep that told me that they had received my rebate on the 25th. When I told her that I had the tracking number from USPS she replied that because it was sent to a PO Box they had not received it until the 25th. That's the first demonstration of stupidity. If you start a rebate don't have the customers send it to a PO Box where it's going to take you 20 days to receive it, even though it had arrived over two weeks before at the place you gave your customers as the destination, whether it's an address or PO Box.

That rep told me that my rebate was already in process and that it should ship by the end of March. Today being April 5th and still without my player, I called again and they told me that the players were on backorder. When I asked them how much longer would it take, they told me to call in two weeks if I still had not received it.

So far it's been 3 months and still no player. I encourage everybody to call them at 1-866-339-4296 and complain, as well as any other Panasonic customer relations number you may find online.

My player arrived via UPS a few minutes ago ... it's a Panasonic DMP-BD65P.

(I bought my HMC-40 Jan 30 and submitted the rebate form within a day or so.)

My Panasonic DMP-BD65P-K player just arrived. I'm guessing that others who are waiting should get theirs soon too....
