The SGM-1X doesn't appear to be a stereo microphone, so you will only get 1-channel audio out of it.

Hi James
Most mono mics are fitted with a stereo 3.5mm plug. Yes they are mono mics but feed to both channels on the front input. If yours has a mono plug then just get yourself a 3.5mm mono to stereo adapter. If you are feeding to the XLR inputs then, yes, each XLR input in mono..one for left and one for right. Only the front input has a stereo input. You can, of course make up a cable to feed both the XLR inputs too. I run Rode VideoMic's on both my cameras and use the mic with a stereo jack on my "B" cam in the front input to feed both left and right channels but the "A" cam mic only feeds the left XLR input as I usually have a wireless receiver on the right channel. It's actually neater to replace the 3.5mm plug if you can solder. Just buy a stereo 3.5mm jack plug and connect the screen of the cable to the back connector and the middle "hot" wire to both the front connectors so the signal is fed into both channels. Chris |
