My first outing with the HMC-40
I used my HMC-40 to shoot a monthly "street party" event Friday evening. Since it was a work assignment and my first time using the camera, I left it in auto mode.
Here's the result, downconverted to SD and then mp4 for the web: Videos: After 5 live - Treasure Coast, FL | TCPalm.com This isn't one of my best videos (the echo-y sound from the interview was thanks to being in a huge art gallery and using the worst external mike ever) but it's a good example of how this camera performs in dusk conditions. It did A LOT better than I thought it would. And the colors are spot on. The last two kids with the Camaros were illuminated by overhead lights in the parking lot, but the guy with the Thunderbird was in the middle of the lot, no lights near him, past dusk. I'm loving this videocam. |

Okay, it's certified as a real camera now!
Any chance this camera could get its own site or at least be officially listed alongside the HMC70 and the 150 in the headlines? Lots of us are interested in the camera but it seems to be wallowing in 2nd class status here for some reason....

Great job. I just got a HMC40 as well and use it for car shows as well.
