anyone screen hmc150- footage on a 52" display?
much of my work ends up on websites and dvds but it often starts out being displayed on a large plasma or lcd.
has anyone seen the hmc150 footage on a quality 52" display? if so, what did you think? any blotchy colors? strobing with movements? any and all thoughts are greatly appreciated. be well rob |

Hi Rob,
I don't have a 52" screen, but a friend of mine does and the footage from the HMC150 looked wonderful. |

I've seen it on a good 42" 1920x1080 plasma and thought overall it looked pretty good, certainly given it's price. It's worth noting that it's not as sharp as something like an EX (hardly surprising given the specs), and as others have said before it looks better in 720p mode than 1080i. Recording in 1080 mode doesn't seem to give any extra sharpness, but does give some compression artefacts, whereas 720p/50 seems pretty clean.

I have a 50" plasma that is used to check projects on, and HMC footage looks just great. If I play the SDHC chip back direct thru my Panasonic BD player, it looks fantastic. When down-converted to SD and played back on a DVD, it looks great as well. Hard to complain, really/ It produces a very nice, sharp picture.
