Price drops

I like to follow up on pc technologies and saw that a dell QX6600 quadcore pc with 2gig memory and 500gig harddrive space costed about 2400dollar 3months ago, today I see the same setup but with a better 8600gts card for 1400dollar! (These are European prizes converted from euro)

It's normal that there are pricedrops on new technologies after they are in massproduction but I never saw these big pricedifferences in just 3months time.
I only wish that would apply to Sony, Canon and Panasonic cameras as well ;)

Usually I don't see price reduction like that until right after I buy it. :-)

Nice drop. :)

I would check again, because today (July 22), Intel has huge price cuts on all their cpu's. For example, the Q6600 Quad Core CPU is down to $266 (US) from $5xx (I don't remember exactly). So the computer you're looking at may be cheaper now than the other day. They have price drips every few months, but this one seems to be one of the biggest drops in recent times.

I want a new system! :)

It seems like DELL has allready lowered their price in Europe more then a week so I am not expecting big pricedrops anymore. My current set up (a single core system) works with the new premiere/encore cs3 software but it sometimes get a bit sluggish and renderingtimes can be quite long. I was planning to upgrade next year when I switch to HD but I must say it's hard to resist not upgrading now. :)

Ah okay, it might just have been the American date for the drop then. Cool, let us know how the system works out. :)
