Flash

I currently use windows media player files to present my demo clips online. I am considering going to flash format.

What tools do I need? I edit in Vegas. I know nothing about Flash, except that it can be configured to load fast and it looks great.

I can spend up to a few hundred dollars for necessary software...any suggestions?

I use the On2 VP6 for Macromedia Flash codec via Sorenson Squeeze for the job. It's the best control over settings I know about.

I will 2nd the vote for Sorenson Squeeze. We use Flash as our delivery method, but sometimes we also provide a QT file at a higher resolution for download if they want it. Sorenson Squeeze is quick, simple and efficient. You'll just have to play with the settings a little to find the perfect balance of file size and quality for your particular needs.

Thank you guys for your sharing that info. I'm going straight to their site and check it out!

Since we're talking about it, do anyone have suggestion on the best place to purchase it?

Sorry Jeff

Sorry about that.

If you ever decide to switch, you'll dig it.

You might as well get After Effects, which supports Flash. CS3 is coming out, so you should be able to pick up a copy of 7.0 on the cheap.

(Wrong forum, by the way; you want this one.)

Jeff,
Be sure the version of Squeeze you buy actually comes with the On2 codec.
Some versions charge $150 extra for it (educational discount version?)
Hope this helps.
