Thanks

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone one the forum and to Chris & the guys for running such a great resource.

I've spend the last couple of months scouring the threads, searching and reading to learn as much as I could.

Today the last of the groups equipment arrived - we now have

canon XH-A1
Libec LS 38 Tripod
Lowel DV Creator 44 kit
Rode boom & shockmount
Rode NTG-2 mike
Azden 100lt wireless mike
Azden FMX-20 mixer
Sennheiser HD215 headphones

plus assorted cables, clips & general stuff with a little bit of money left over for some filters & a spare battery. I decided not to buy the camera case and knocked up something for $65 (pictures attached) - hope it will do the job. I know I've skimped on the recommendations on some items but the money only goes so far - I'm sure I couldn't have done it without this resource - so thanks again.

Nice looking case, Paul.
Which case is that? Where did you get the foam insers?
Are you planning to check it with the airlines or is it carry-on size?

Traditional yellow foam has a tendancy to shed particles and 'dust' as it ages. If I were you, I'd keep the camera in a plastic bag, inside the case. Otherwise, looks like a good design.
