effect in 300

sorry if its wrong place to post,

but how were done those fighting scenes in 300, where every hit was in slow motion and everything between them were sped up. I mean was it done in post or on location buy adjusting frame rate just before every hit?

The usual method is to shoot at more frames per second to achieve the slomo, then ramp the speed in post.
