Additional Fonts and are they license free?
In creating a logo sequence (for my own company), I'm looking for additional fonts than what ships automatically with my PC/Sony Vegas. I assume the ones that ship with a Dell PC aren't copy protected and I can use them for my own commercial use? But what about additional fonts that I'm seeking? Can someone supply a link to license free fonts? I guess you can't be too careful, especially if your creating for $$ commercial reasons.

Most of the major font-selling sites make it quite "clear" what the license arrangements are when you buy the font
e.g. http://www.fonts.com/Legal/MI-EULA.htm http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/le...fs/FontFAQ.pdf http://www.linotype.com/1710/licenseagreement.html It might be better to pay a few bucks for a font that you know you have a good license for than to build you business identity around free fonts you have to worry about. Don't assume you can use the fonts on your computer. Read the legal material than came with it. You'd be ok under the "embedding" clauses of the agreements I think. |
